The name tadelakt comes from the Arabic word for "to rub," a nod to the hours of stone polishing behind every piece. Our artisans apply the lime plaster by hand, then burnish it until the surface takes on a soft, natural sheen. It's slow work that can't be rushed, which is why each sink carries its own slight variations in tone and form.

Water-resistant and breathable, with no synthetic sealers

Instead of glaze, tadelakt is sealed with black olive-oil soap, which bonds with the lime to form a natural water-resistant layer. The surface stays breathable, which helps it resist mold, and it feels warm to the touch in a way glazed ceramic doesn't. It darkens slightly when wet and lightens as it dries, a sign of real tadelakt. A monthly wash with black soap keeps the seal strong, and a full care and repair guide comes with every sink.

Crated, insured, and delivered in days

Every sink is wrapped by hand and packed in a pine crate built to its size, and every shipment is insured. Orders travel by DHL or FedEx express and typically arrive in the US or Europe 2 to 5 business days after dispatch. US orders ship duty-paid, so there are no import fees at delivery. If anything ever arrives damaged, we replace it at no cost.
